A new year means new car releases, but not all of your favourite makes and models will make it to 2024. Several firm favourites saw the end of the line in 2024. It’s a tough time for sedans and muscle cars, with the Chrysler 300 discontinued and the Dodge Charger & Challenger discontinued, too. Chrysler 300
The luxury sedan, the Chrysler 300, won’t be coming back in 2024. The 2023 top-of-the-line 300C was the last hurrah. Elegance met muscle in this powerful vehicle that combined style and performance. It comes with a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine as standard, although there are options to get the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 or the 6.4-litre HEMI SRT V8.
Highlights include 20-inch wheels and Nappa leather-faced seats for the Touring-L, S and C trims and the Uconnect 4C NAV multimedia centre as standard. The standard engine boasts a 7.8 L/100 km combined fuel economy.
Dodge Challenger
Known as the most powerful factory-made car. This muscle car is all about heritage. Don’t let that make you think that it’s not up to scratch when it comes to technology, though. It boasts smartphone connectivity, a ParkView rear backup camera as standard and an adaptable 7-inch driver in-cluster display.
It’s all about the power, though. Although it’s not coming back in 2024, the 2023 model reached new heights. With up to 807 horsepower, it’s one of the fastest muscle cars around. Trims include the SXT, GT, R/T, Scat Pack 392 and the Scat Pack 392 Widebody. Plus, there’s the SRT Hellcat Jailbreak and the SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak and widebody versions of each of them.
Gas-Powered Dodge Charger
It’s not the last we’ll see of the Charger; an electric model is expected to be available. However, there’ll be no gas-powered model in 2024. Yet, the 2023 model still turns heads. It comes with the option of five possible powertrains. They are the 3.6-litre Pentastar VVT V6, the 5.7-litre HEMI VVT V8, and the 392 HEMI V8.
The supercharged engines include the 6.2-litre HEMI SRT Hellcat V* and the high-output 6.2-litre HEMI SRT Hellcat Redeye V8. It was named the last-call lineup, showing that it’s the fans’ last chance to enjoy the special edition vehicles that deliver power and dominance on the road.
