Finding Competition – Adventure with The 2021 Jeep Cherokee

The 2021 Jeep Cherokee can simply do more than its rivals in the compact crossover class. It can tow more. It can go off road. It can open drivers up to new adventures that remain beyond the reach of other vehicles. For that reason, the Cherokee remains a popular vehicle.

Models and Pricing

There are eight different model configurations offered for the 2021 Jeep Cherokee in Orleans and across Canda:

  • Sport – $31,117
  • North – $34,756
  • 80th Anniversary Edition – $37,249
  • Altitude – $37,716
  • Trailhawk – $37,993
  • Limited – $38,687
  • Trailhawk Elite – $40,116
  • High Altitude – $40,718

Safety, infotainment, and comfort are top priorities for Jeep and are prominent features on all models, including a touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, and plenty of standard driver-assist technology.

For drivers that want the best capability, the Trailhawk model upgrades to the more powerful V6 engine, all-wheel drive system, and off-road suspension for towing and tackling trails.

For drivers that want more comfort and convenience, the 80th Anniversary Edition offers a more upscale ride with leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and larger 8.4-inch touchscreen.

Performance

While the 2021 Jeep Cherokee offers fantastic off-road capability, its platform is based on a car and not a truck, which means it provides a comfortable ride and good handling while on the road. It is extremely rare for a vehicle to drive well both on- and off-road, but the Cherokee manages to do both with ease.

This ease is helped by three powerful engine options, which pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission to offer amazing performance.

Lower trim levels feature the 2.4-litre Tigershark MultiAir engine, which provides 180 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, delivering 907 kg max towing and 9.3 L/100km combined fuel economy. The more powerful option, the 3.2-litre Pentastar V6 engine, is found on higher trim levels, offering 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque, delivering 2,041 kg max towing and 10.6 L/100km combined fuel economy. There is also an optional 2.0-litre turbocharged engine available as an option on several trim levels.

Infotainment

Jeep’s Uconnect infotainment system is one of the best available among automakers with plenty of features and an intuitive layout. Every 2021 Cherokee offers a touchscreen for control, 7.0-inch on lower models and 8.4-inch on higher-end trims.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included with the system, though a Wi-Fi hotspot and rear-seat USB ports are only available on more expensive models.

Safety

Jeep offers over 80 standard and available safety and security features to provide peace of mind to drivers. This includes standard forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert. With these key driver-assist technologies included on every model, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee earned a five-star crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
